A brighter, more equitable future
At Panasonic, we’re always looking to the future. It started over 100 years ago, with our founder’s guiding vision of making today better than yesterday, tomorrow better than today. And guess what? We’re still seeking ways to enrich lives through innovation, contribute to the wellbeing of the planet, and secure a more equitable future for generations to come.
We believe in leaving the future to you, not to chance.
Over 1 billion people across the world use Panasonic products every day. That’s a big number – and it comes with an even bigger responsibility.
Roughly 1% of global CO₂ emissions from electricity consumption come from the use or manufacturing of our products1. So we need to address things right now if we’re going to give you a future you can enjoy, rather than one you need to save.
That begins by taking actions today to meet our climate responsibilities head on. And we call those actions Panasonic GREEN IMPACT.
“In truth, without the resources of the world, there will be no businesses. Depleting natural resources will make it difficult for businesses to survive in the future. Businesses must think differently to have a business in the future.”Markus Reichling

Turning our responsibilities into real action
-
We’re minimizing our impact on society through our commitment to decarbonize, with plans to cut 110M tons of CO₂ from our value chain by 2050.
-
We’re reducing the CO₂ emissions our products and services contribute to society when used by our customers.
-
We're mitigating future CO₂ emissions by introducing and developing new technologies.
In 2024, we have already achieved:
- 44 zero CO2 factories
- 99.3% factory waste recycling rate
- 29,600 tons of recycled resin used (2023 and 2024 cumulative total)
- Circular economy models introduced across 13 Panasonic Group businesses
By 2030, we will:
- Achieve net-zero in-house CO₂ emissions
- Reduce CO₂ emissions from our own value chain by 110 million tons
By 2050, we will:
- Reduce CO₂ emissions from our own value chain and those of society by 300 million tons, or 1% of current global emissions, through products, services and new technologies that help others avoid emissions
Tough questions
As we deepen our commitment to sustainability, we’re asking ourselves these questions to continuously hold ourselves accountable.
