An R32 mini-split is a more environmentally friendly option because R32 refrigerant has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero, meaning it has no impact on the ozone layer. R32 also has a global warming potential (GWP) that is significantly lower than the refrigerants it is replacing.

What are ClimaPure™ XZ and EXTERIOS® Z?
ClimaPure™ XZ and EXTERIOS® Z are ductless mini-split heat pump systems engineered by Panasonic to reliably operate in cold climates using R32 refrigerant. Panasonic R32 mini-splits maintain home comfort year-round with zoned temperature control, sophisticated humidity management and whisper-quiet operation. ENERGY STAR® certified, ClimaPure™ XZ and EXTERIOS® Z are available as single- or multi-zone systems.
ClimaPure™ XZ cleans the air
ClimaPure™ XZ mini-splits raise home comfort to the next level with Panasonic’s newest generation of nanoe™ X air and surface purification technology. nanoe™ X effectively deodorizes, moisturizes and inhibits a variety of pollutants, resulting in a fresher, cleaner living space. Thanks to the Inside Cleaning On Demand feature, you can even put nanoe™ X to work on the inside of the mini-split itself, so it remains clean and dry. ClimaPure™ XZ also comes with built-in Wi-Fi, giving you convenient control of the mini-split system through Amazon Alexa, Google Home or the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App.
Unique mini-split heat pump technology for cold climates
ClimaPure™ XZ and EXTERIOS® Z mini-split heat pumps can reliably generate heat even when temperatures plummet to -26°C (-15°F) outside. Every outdoor unit is equipped with a base pan heater to keep condensate from freezing, and multiple drain ports to ensure prompt drainage. If indoor temperatures ever fall below 7.8°C (46°F), our Room Freeze Protection feature automatically activates the heat pump to prevent plumbing damage. Single-zone ClimaPure™ XZ or EXTERIOS® Z systems have a built-in Fireplace Function that you can use to circulate warm air from the fireplace when the heat pump is off, heating the room more efficiently and achieving a uniform temperature profile throughout the space.
Easy installation and servicing
Panasonic has developed R32 ductless mini-splits with efficiency in mind, not only for the property owners and tenants who will operate them but also for the contractors who must install them and the technicians who will service them. Both the indoor and outdoor units have been optimized for fast, neat installation, convenient access to circuit boards, wiring, piping and drain hoses, plus easy part removal that facilitates servicing.
